St James Priory inspires art and design students

Local Learning took the archaeological finds to City of Bristol Level 2 Art and Design students who explored the evidence from the excavation and produced artwork, much of which was related to the study of the medieval floor tiles. Many of the students were particularly interested in the idea of broken, discarded tiles being used to line the graves and went on to produce their own tile designs, some imitating the originals and others imagined the tiles as a fragmented map of the area.
