The Irish Giant’s story imagined by 5‑6 year olds

Patrick waited behind a long curtain whilst the paying public came to ogle him and comment on his unusual size. As if at the zoo, they would have pointed and gasped, wondering aloud where he would have got his clothes and how big his mother must have been. Year 2, St Barnabas CEVC explored traditional fairy stories and noticed how unsympathetically anyone that was different was represented. Year 2 tried to empathise with Patrick Cotter and account for why it was that this man eventually became a recluse. They imagined Patrick’s story and with the help of local community artist, Barbara Disney they produced a life sized mosaic of Patrick. If you look closely they have embedded little clues about Patrick’s life story.
